Summer Schemes - A recital
On Sunday, August 25th, Paul Winkelmans, the grandson of long-time St. Paul’s member Maureen Godfrey, will be joined by pianist Kimbery-Ann Bartczak for a special recital of opera and art song.
Paul has sung as a soloist across Canada with organizations such as Fraser Lyric Opera, Manitoba Underground Opera, the Winnipeg Symphony, the Thunder Bay Symphony, The University of Toronto St Michael’s Schola Cantorum, the Elmer Iseler Singers, the Nota Bene Players and Singers, and the Amadeus Choir of Toronto.
Kimberley-Ann Bartczak is currently the Principal Coach and Accompanist at Pacific Opera Victoria, and was the Resident Conductor and Répétiteur at Calgary Opera, was on staff at Opera on the Avalon, an alumna of Vancouver Opera’s Yulanda M. Faris Young Artist Program and has performed and conducted coast to coast across Canada as well as in the United States, Mexico and Europe.
Together they will perform a delightful afternoon of opera and art song, with works by Mozart, Schubert, and featuring Gerald Finzi’s Earth and Air and Rain song cycle with text by Thomas Hardy.
